About Handy Yoke

Handy Yoke is a small kit for the jobs that still have to be done: joining a PDF, turning an iPhone photo into a JPEG, or seeing what an Irish salary looks like after tax. The file tools run in your browser. A document is not uploaded in order to be processed.

The site is published at https://handyyoke.ie.

What is on the site

PDF and image tools cover merging, splitting, and converting between JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and PDF. The money tools cover 2026 take-home pay, income tax, pension contribution relief, residential stamp duty, VAT, mortgage and loan repayments, capital gains, exit tax and compound interest. There is also a word counter, a JSON formatter, a case converter and a QR code. Each tool has its own page, with a short guide underneath.

How the calculators are kept

Rates, thresholds and bands live in one file, with the Revenue, gov.ie or Citizens Information page they came from. They are checked against those pages and covered by unit tests. If a figure cannot be confirmed, it is left out rather than guessed. Budget 2027 is announced, and it is not applied here, because the published notes do not yet give every band the calculators would need.
